Art and Exhibition

Creating an exhibition is an artistic process. After the concept comes the work in process, in which intuition, finely developed over many years, plays a decisive role alongside precise planning. The conceptual finalization already anticipates the setting of the spatial staging as a whole. In her artistic work, Andrea Simon moves through many areas of art-making. From choreography and direction to set design and lighting. From text work to translation as film or installation. Her series of works are multi-part and speak all possible material languages. From photography to sculptural buildings, objects made from found objects or video installations. As a basic impression you could call it playful. „Play!“ is a call to action in her spatial installations. Viewers are offered new, even irritating narratives, often with dark abysses, but which come across very light-footed.

Belichtungsmesser is an exhibition concept that places extraordinary art positions in a context and creates a spatial, sensory experience.

In the curatorial work, the visual and textual PR accompaniment should be mentioned, which leads to the well-rounded impression that characterizes Andrea Simon’s work. Finally, this also includes all the other room utensils, from a chair to the umbrella stand.
